Mobile and manufactured homes are built differently, and their roofs fail differently. Texas Contractors, Inc. handles mobile home roofs from small leak repairs to complete rebuilds, plus the ceilings, trim, and siding that go with them.
No deposit. You pay when the job is done.
Many older mobile homes have very flat roofs, some as low as 2 on 12. Water drains slowly, sits on the roof, and works its way in along the edges. Patching the top often does not fix it, because the real problem is underneath. By the time water spots show inside, the decking, insulation, and ceiling may already be damaged.
We don't install skirting, vinyl siding, or windows.
On a 1980s single wide in Harlingen, we tore the roof down to the framing, removed the rot, and rebuilt the structure to raise the pitch from 2 on 12 to 4 on 12. The new roof is a complete CertainTeed system, so it could be registered for a manufacturer warranty. After more than a week of steady rain, it has not leaked.
We work inside mobile home parks across the Valley and follow each park's rules on access, parking, work hours, and cleanup. Homes on private lots are covered too.
Permit rules depend on the city and the job. On the Harlingen rebuild, the city required a permit and the homeowner's insurance required an engineer's inspection. We tell the homeowner up front what the city and the insurance will need, then handle the permit and work with the engineer. In Cameron County, we work with an engineer who registers windstorm jobs with the Texas Department of Insurance.
Any of these is a reason for a free inspection. It takes about an hour, and we show the homeowner what we find with photos.
